Okee Dokee Brothers

Saturday, May 19:? This one-time bluegrass duo made up of Justin Lansing and Joe Mailander is now a hot family music band.? The Minneapolis musicians are releasing their their fourth CD? ?Can You Canoe? this week and celebrating with a free concert at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park? in Minneapolis, appropriately enough, overlooking the Mississippi River.? The 15 songs on the album were inspired by their month-long canoe paddle down the Mississippi last summer.? They?ll be singing about mosquitoes, tent camping under the stars, fishing and friendship. Their clever lyrics, considerable charm and musical talents on the guitar and banjo promise for a great outdoor concert.? If you miss it, you can catch them around town this summer playing at festivals and libraries.? And the album is essential summer road trip listening, even if you?re not traveling by canoe. Read more about them? here. 11 a.m. Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, 420 Main St. SE, Mpls. ; free; okeedokee.org.
